UX Designer

(£32,000 - £38,000)

We’re a fast moving startup (backed by Techstars!) developing technology to change the way that we assess and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

Right now, technology is doing almost nothing to help physiotherapists to assess their patients. Our mission is to change that. We’re looking for smart people who want to work on interesting technology from our London based office. We’re a small team so you’ll get to have a huge impact on our products. You’ll be working to deliver new products and features, heavily relying on user research and working closely with the technical, commercial and clinical team. You’ll have the chance to make a substantial contribution to the direction of the company’s technology and future product lines.

About us

  • We’re writing software to track and assess a patients movement to provide clinicians with an accurate and quantitative measurement of their motor function

  • Right now we’re a small team with backgrounds across medical technologies and physiotherapy

  • We’re open, friendly and enthusiastic and have a passion for using technology for the good of the world

The role

  • We’re hiring our first UX designer / user researcher to take a lead role in developing our first product

  • Extremely interesting problems to solve every day (our technology is designed for use in complex healthcare environments so world class UX is a key requirement!)

  • Central role in the design of our technology. Closely working with our development team from the initial user research to the workflow and look and feel of the software

  • User research with clinical users and patients to help direct what we build

  • User testing to make sure we’re keeping their needs at the center of the product

  • Support the company’s interaction with users (social media, blogs, website content)

  • Communicate research findings to inform business decisions through the best possible means ranging from presentations, workshops, reports or whatever mechanism gets the insights into our decision-making

You must have

  • Passion to build products that empower clinicians to give better care to their patients (you don’t need a healthcare background, but let us know if you have one!)

  • The ability to learn fast

  • Crazy attention to detail

  • Systematic approach to thinking through potential problems

  • Ability to build rapport with our users

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain the complex in a simple way, so anyone can understand you

You may have

  • Experience in technology for healthcare or another complex environment

  • Experience in both quantitative and qualitative research

  • Experience of conducting research across the full lifecycle from designing a research plan, recruiting users, conducting research, analysing data and communicating findings

Benefits

  • Meaningful share options, so that you own a part of the company

  • Plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility as we grow

  • Free fruit in the office

  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays of course)

  • Flexible working

  • Work with a friendly, dynamic and agile team to address some of the biggest healthcare challenges

  • Office near Camden Lock right by the tube station
