Goal: Stop slouching
Where slouching tends to creep into your day
Dr Nicola Tik

Slouching rarely happens all the time in the same way. For most people, it shows up more in certain places, at certain times or during certain tasks. Spotting your own patterns makes it much easier to know when a reset will help most.

Common slouch moments

Many people notice they slouch most:

Why these moments

Each of these has something in common. Your attention is somewhere else, you’ve been in one position for a while, or the seat encourages you to sink. That’s when your body settles into whatever takes the least effort.

Making your own slouch map

For one day, you could notice each time you catch yourself slouching and jot down:

By the end of the day, you’ll often see a pattern.

Using what you find

Once you know your slouch moments, you can plan for them. If late afternoon is your time, that’s a good moment for a VIDA 30-second video or a short walk. If it’s long calls, a quick reset as each call starts can help.

Something to try this week

Pick one working day and keep a simple slouch map. Each time you notice yourself slouching, note where you are, what you’re doing and the time.

What to take away
